1.1 Nominations. When a nomination is submitted through the nomination form, we collect the information provided. This includes the company’s name, website, industry, country and description, and the contact person’s name, email address and phone number.

1.2 Contact form and correspondence. When you use the contact form or write to us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, the subject of your enquiry, your message, and any later correspondence.

1.3 Companies identified by our research team. To identify companies for review, our research team uses publicly available business information. This includes company websites, business directories and published award listings. This may include business contact details such as a company email address or phone number.

1.4 Website usage data. When you visit the Website, we collect technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the Website. Please see our Cookie Policy for details.

1.5 Purchases. Recognition packages are purchased through our separate online store. Information provided when placing an order is processed under the privacy policy shown in that store.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Review nominations against our eligibility rules and criteria, and carry out the selection process.
  • Contact nominated companies about their nomination, the outcome and their recognition, by email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Contact companies identified by our research team about the Global Elite Awards.
  • Reply to enquiries sent through the contact form or by email.
  • Publish recognitions on the Website, as described in section 4.
  • Maintain the verification register of licensed titles.
  • Understand how the Website is used and improve it.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our communications on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the integrity of the awards.

3. Legal Bases

Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on one of the following:

  • Our legitimate interests in running the awards, assessing nominations, communicating with businesses and improving the Website.
  • Steps taken at your request, such as answering an enquiry.

4. Publication of Recognitions

When a company is recognised, we may publish its name, title, industry and country. We may also publish its logo, photographs and announcements about its recognition on the Website and on our social media channels. 5. Service Providers We Use

We work with trusted service providers who process information on our behalf:

  • Google: Google Forms for nominations, Google Analytics for Website statistics, and Google Fonts for the display of text on the Website.
  • Meta: the Meta Pixel on the Website, and the confirmation of nomination submissions to Meta, to measure the effectiveness of our communications. For nomination submissions, contact details are shared with Meta only in a hashed (encrypted) form.
  • Our Website host: to operate the Website, its contact form and our email.
  • Email and messaging providers: to send and manage our communications, including WhatsApp.

These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us. We do not sell personal information.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the integrity of the awards.

6. International Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Google and Meta, process information outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or recognised data privacy frameworks.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Nominations and related correspondence: for the edition concerned and up to three years afterwards, to answer follow-up questions and consider future editions.
  • Contact form messages: up to two years after the enquiry is closed.
  • Recognition and verification records: for as long as the recognition is published or the licence is active, and as required for legal and accounting purposes.
  • Website usage data: for the periods described in our Cookie Policy.

8. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, its processing.
  • Receive it in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
